Homophones Feeling: damp Coming in the door from my first day of training, my roommate calls out, "I love that it's raining!" I grimace. "It's nice, but it makes everything smell like hot wet asphalt." "Hot what?!" "Ass-FALT, Yazzy, hot wet asphalt." "I thought you said-" "I can guess." So yeah. But in the meantime, it's pouring down like movie rain, thick and heavy and absolutely gorgeous, and now outside smells like dew-spotted summer instead of grease, warm gum, and animal leavings.
