Danger! Madness! Retreeeeat!! Feeling: unspirited There is no word to explain A&M vs. UT Game Day in Hometown. For the next three hours at least, everyone will be clustered around the television, shouting like maniacs, discussing every minute detail of the football players, the coaches, the plays, past games, and what next season will be like. In past years, I've seen people perform rain-dances and do jumping jacks following an exciting play. The years when we join our extended family to watch the game, Aggies and Longhorns assemble on opposite sides of the room and wear every scrap of maroon or burnt orange that they can find. This year, I'm just grateful my sister has gone back to Sistertown to work, so all we've left is five overzealous Aggies, and the rivalry will be kept to a minimum. Dad's asking everyone to make predictions about who will win, and by how much. Puppy is pouting because he has practice with his own team at school for the playoffs game tomorrow, and will miss the majority of the broadcast. When Becca tried to tackle Matt in the kitchen, he did a line-drive and push/slid her across the linoleum in stocking feet. The two of them are giggling like loons. Me, I'm being a grouch and retreating to the sanity of homework in my room until the madness blows over.
