I wasted a lot of time today feeling abandoned, lonely, because my phone didn't ring. I was hoping to hear from so many friends, and was surprised and hurt when people didn't come clamoring for my attention.

Then I realized that perhaps I should try calling them first.

After that, the evening distinctly improved.

You'd think I would have figured that out earlier in life, but no. That would be far too simple.
